The EPB Institute of Technology and Networking at Tyner Academy seeks a Computer Science teacher to lead this innovative program.
The computer science teacher is the lead teacher in this institute and teaches coordinates the program with technology leader EPB in Chattanooga, TN, in order to give Hamilton County students exposure and access to careers in information technology.
Candidates uniquely qualified for this position will have an industry background in either networking systems or computer science. The Future Ready teacher will teach CTE courses in the Networking Systems pathway to 9-12 grade students, while working with other core academic teachers to plan project-based learning opportunities and instruction with real world connections to the career theme.
We are seeking candidates with strong interpersonal skills, management and/or leadership experience, and a track record on deadline-driven projects. The Future Ready teacher will be the liaison for this program with industry partners and must effectively collaborate and plan academy activities with partners inside and outside the school. Candidates should have a passion for working with high-school students and an ability to build relationships with students, with a particular interest with working in a diverse setting with students of varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
Minimum Experience Required:
If not a certified teacher,
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required.
Industry certification in A+, Net Plus, CIW, or CISCO required
Five years of work experience in the past eight years in one or a combination of the following areas: Computer networking, Network designer, Computer maintenance, Computer engineer, cable technician, telecommunication technician, computer system analysis, computer programmer, software developer, quality assurance software developer, software architect, technology business analyst, it project manager, business intelligence developer, business analyst, information technology systems manager, computer support specialist
Willingness to obtain an Information Technology (740) practitioner occupational license while teaching in this position
